Artist: John Mazziotta

In 1964, Chief Photographer at the Dallas Times Herald, John Mazziotta was happy to impress his young teenage children and cover the Beatles arrival at Love Field. The Beatles are shown coming off the plane wearing cowboy hats followed by their manager, Brian Epstein. On Friday night, September 18th, the Beatles played a 30 minute set consisting of 12 songs to 10,000 screaming fans at Dallas Memorial Auditorium. It was to be their one and only concert in Dallas. Winning awards from The Associated Press, The Press Club of Dallas and Life Magazine to name a few, John Mazziotta’s images recall a collection of moments that helped define Dallas, a city coming into its own. more views...
